Late LKF President Joseph Korvie To Be Honored

KAKATA, Liberia – The 2025/2026 Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) Margibi Sub-Association Second Division League will officially close this Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium here in Margibi County.
The season finale will feature the league’s remaining matches, followed by a closing ceremony during which the 2025/2026 champions will be crowned. Individual awards recognizing outstanding performances throughout the season will also be presented. The Sub-Association has also announced that additional awards for the 2024/2025 league season will be presented during a separate awards program on a date yet to be announced.
Before the start of the day’s three remaining matches, a moment of silence will be observed in honor of the late Mr. Youvor Kollie, popularly known as “JY,” who passed away on July 26 and will be laid to rest later this month.
The day’s action begins at 2:00 p.m. with Mighty Power KC taking on Kamara KC. At 3:00 p.m., league leaders United Angels KC will face Future Girls KC in a crucial title-deciding encounter. A victory for United Angels KC will secure the 2025/2026 league championship.
The final match of the day will see defending champions and second-placed Fuamah Girls KC face God’s Favor KC, who currently occupy fourth place in the standings.
Fuamah Girls KC’s hopes of retaining the title depend on the outcome of the United Angels KC and Future Girls KC clash. The defending champions will be hoping the Weala-based Future Girls KC can defeat United Angels KC, a result that would keep Fuamah Girls KC’s championship aspirations alive.
In another development, 2026 LKF Margibi Sub-Association Knockout champions Surprise KC and United Angels KC have already secured two of Margibi County’s four available spots in the upcoming playoff tournament in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, scheduled for later this month. Two additional teams will qualify to complete the county’s four-team representation.
The closing ceremony will also pay tribute to former Liberia Kickball Federation President Joseph Korvie, whose immense contributions to the growth and development of kickball in Liberia will be honored as members of the kickball community gather to celebrate the successful conclusion of the 2025/2026 Margibi Sub-Association Second Division League season.
