Weala-based Future Girls Kickball Club continued their impressive run in the Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF)-Margibi Sub-Association Second Division League, extending their winning streak to three matches as they continue their push for a playoff berth in the 2025/2026 season.
The club has now collected nine points from its last three league matches, maintaining an unbeaten run since the league resumed following the LKF Regional I Kickball Playoffs held in Kakata, Margibi County.
On Sunday, August 2, at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata, Future Girls defeated Dream Girls KC 5-2 to keep their playoff hopes alive. The defeat also ended Dream Girls KC’s hopes of winning the league championship.
Before beginning their current three-match winning streak, Future Girls occupied seventh place on the league table with 10 points from 10 matches.
Following the league’s resumption, Future Girls opened with a 3-0 victory over Kamara KC on Thursday, July 30 at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium. They followed that performance with a spirited 3-1 comeback win over LKF-Margibi Sub-Association Knockout champions Surprised KC on Friday, July 31, at the same venue.
With these results, Future Girls have become the first club to win three consecutive matches since the league resumed after the LKF Regional I Kickball Tournament, themed “Who Owns the Region?”
The Weala-based side has also become the first club this season to record three consecutive victories at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium, one of the designated venues for the competition.
Following their recent success, Future Girls now sit sixth on the league table with 19 points from 13 matches, having recorded five wins, four draws, and four defeats.
Their final league fixture will be against league leaders United Angels KC on Thursday, August 6, at a venue yet to be announced by the organizers.
Future Girls’ hopes of securing a playoff place depend not only on defeating United Angels but also on favorable results elsewhere. God’s Favor KC must lose to second-placed Fuamah Girls KC on the same day, while Dream Girls KC must fail to defeat Kamara KC in their final league match scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Surprise KC dealt a major blow to God’s Favor KC’s championship ambitions after the two sides played to a scoreless draw.
The result means God’s Favor KC failed to register a victory over Surprise KC in any competition during the 2025/2026 season under the Liberia Kickball Federation-Margibi Sub-Association.
And still with more action on Tuesday, 4 August at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata Dream Girls KC clinched a commanding 14-0 win against Kamara KC with Dream Girls KC marking the final league game in the competition that saw the team climbing to third place with 23pts from 14 games recording 7 win, 5 defeats and 2 draws.
The league season will conclude this week with four exciting fixtures before the closing ceremony on Thursday, August 6.
The final day of the league on Thursday, August 6, will feature three matches at a venue to be announced by the organizers:
Mighty Power KC vs. Kamara KC
United Angels KC vs. Future Girls KC
Fuamah Girls KC vs. God’s Favor KC
A victory for United Angels KC over Future Girls KC will secure the league championship for the Kakata-based club. However, if United Angels lose, they will need God’s Favor KC to defeat Fuamah Girls KC. A draw for Fuamah Girls would be enough to see the Bong County-based club retain the championship for a second consecutive season.
Fuamah Girls KC are the defending champions of the competition.
In another development, United Angels KC and Surprise KC have already secured automatic qualification for the LKF Second Division Regional Promotional Playoffs, scheduled to be held in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, later this month.
Margibi County will be represented by four clubs in this year’s regional playoffs—the top three teams from the league, along with the LKF Margibi Sub-Association Knockout champions.
