DUAZON, Margibi –A Liberian Clergyman has described the Liberian Legislators as “Sleeping Elders” and are working in total darkness amidst the suffering of Liberians.

The General Overseer of the God’s Divine Glory Healing Ministries Incorporated, Rev. David Koon, Jr. made the assertion, when he delivered his Sunday, July 19, 2020sermon at the Edifice of his church in Lower Margibi County.

In Liberia, the upper House of the Legislature, the Senate refers to themselves as “the House of elders”.

One of their members, Senator Darius Dillon recently referred to the Senate as “rotton, corrupt” and to his fellow Lawmakers as “spineless”.

Rev. Koon. Said: “When I’m talking about the elders of the Nation, I’m talking about our Representatives and Senators who make decisions for our country, Liberia and those people are working in total darkness and sleep while their eyes are opened.”

“Those people don’t care about us, the citizens that why we’re suffering like this. They have all their children in developed countries in Europe and America, getting better education but ours here is in a mess.”

The Liberian cleric furthered, “take a look at our Education, Health, Road Network, Security, Transportation, water and Sanitation, and Electricity… those things are not reliable because of their instability.”

“We don’t have anything to Boast of Our Lawmakers are Wolves in Sheep skin they don’t care about us and that why we’re living the way we’re living.”

Rev. Koon’s Sunday sermon was delivered on the theme: “Have you seen” with his Text taken from the Bible book of Ezekiel Chapter 8: Verses 8 to 16.

He emphasized that Liberia’s leaders (fathers) are sleeping and they must wake up.

“Our fathers are standing at the entry of the Church and their backs are turned to the Alter, facing the sun worshiping the Idol.”

“If the fathers are sleeping the Church will remain silent, because of the church is so silent, Liberians are dying in poverty. No Voice in the Land so i pray that God will raise up An Ezekiel in this Country. In Other Country and even before in Liberia they Church was key in decision making but now a day in Liberia the government makes decision without the Church  and the Church will agrees with government,” the head of God’s Divine Glory Healing Ministries said.

Rev. Koon frowned on the silence of many Christian Churches in the country nowadays.

“Majority of our Churches in Liberia are silence because of idol worship ,I was Surprised and shocked to see and hear that a Clergy Man Lay flat Before President Weah’s  feet and allow him the Liberian Leader to sit on the Altar of God. Liberia’s President is today an idol that our fathers (Other preacher men will lay down flat in front of and worship him.”

He claimed that Liberia’s decision makers no longer take issue of interest of  the country  to the Church, but from the Legislature on the grounds of the to the Masonic craft Building at the top of Benson Street in Monrovia.

“Our laws are no longer passed at day but rather at night and during their Meeting time.”

Laws, the Liberian cleric said, have been passed as Capitol Building which he described as the “hole” which was talked about in the Holy scriptures and the Masonic Building as the “door” where the final decision for Liberia are made over night.

Rev. Koon is calling on the Liberian government to listen to the Church for direction and guidance.

“Our Elders (Liberian Legislaturs) are sleeping and need to walk up so that our country Liberia will raise again. We must stand tall and continue to speak to the conscious minds for the betterment of our Country,” the Liberian cleric ended by blessing Liberians.
