Husband’s brutality forces Woman, 35 to give birth pre-maturely

(Last Updated On: )

A woman has prematurely given birth in Sinoe County, after severe beating allegedly at the hands of her husband, as domestic violence continues to rise in Liberia.

The woman is said to have been kicked in the stomach several times and stabbed with a knife in the ankle by the man, who was identified as Mr. Pannoh.

Mrs. Pannoh had been accused of misusing his money and for blocking his ambition to enroll at a driving school.

After her manhandling, she is reported to have later given birth, but the infant however died hours after.

She explained later that her husband was in the habit of misusing money and that she refused to release money for him to enter the driving school because he had embarked on a similar venture few months earlier in Monrovia but failed to continue.

The driving school saga, she noted, is the main source of the conflict.
