TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia– In a silent and not packed courtroom in Criminal Court ‘B’, defendant Bill Jallah who murdered his girlfriend Princess Zuo Wesseh on December 21,2024, in Monrovia’s Paynesville suburb, took the witness stand but quickly broke down in tears pleading for mitigation of his sentence.
His continuous weeping led one of his sisters sitting in the courtroom to join him in crying, as the presiding Judge Wesseh A. Wesseh and others looked on.
“I have nothing to justify for killing Princess Zuo Wesseh,” the former boyfriend of the late Princess asserted.
Defendant Bill Jallah was indicted by the grand jury of Montserrado County for crimes of Murder, Criminal Attempt to commit murder and aggravated assault.
When asked by lawyer Cllr. Jimmy Bombo on the witness stand, Mr. Witness, you have been charged by the Republic of Liberia for the Crimes of Murder, Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder and Aggravated Assault, what do you have to say?
“Honestly, I cannot recall everything that happened, but I really don’t have much to say to this Court.”.
“So, I want to use this time to apologize to the Government of Liberia and to the Court for the incident that happened”.
“ I am deeply sorry, especially to Princess’s Mother, Ma-Mai. I am sorry for taking your daughter’s life from you” defendant Jallah told court.
I don’t know the pain that she is going through but I am sorry and I know that sorry is not enough.” I also want to say that I am deeply sorry to the Princess’s son, Eddie, that he lost his mother at a very young age.
“I am also sorry to princess only Brother Isaac and I am sorry to all the Wesseh and Zuo Families. I apologize to the Government of Liberia; I am sorry to all those this incident has affected. I am appealing to this Honorable Court for mercy” he said while crying bitterly.
“I am begging the Judge and this Court to kindly exercise justice with mercy. I have nothing to justify and the few times I have been in prison I have been playing this incident over and over in my head but nothing makes sense to me.”
Defendant Jallah told the court that Princess was my very good friend and to get to know that she is gone is something that I cannot still understand but I know that sorry will not bring her back. So, once again I am asking and saying sorry to all those that this incident has affected especially Princess’s families and I am begging the Judge and the Republic of Liberia to kindly exercise mercy that is all that I have to say.
