In Liberia’s Maryland County: Six Arrested For Murder & Criminal Conspiracy

HARPER, Liberia- Police in the southeastern County of Maryland have arrested six persons for allegedly murdering and Criminally conspiring in the killing of   Iweso Prowd near this port city 250 miles from Monrovia.

Victim Iweso Prowd, age 50 was tied up and beaten by 15 persons in the Harper village of Kudikude near Harper on 6 March this year. The area where the incident happened is approximately 10 miles away from the County’s political capital.

Those arrested include Sunday Allison, age 50; Edward Dweh Allison, age 45; Morris Kla Allison, age 28; Moses B. Allison, age 37. Others are Friday Howe, age 27 and Marh S. Allison, age 25. They have now been forwarded to the Harper City Magisterial court awaiting trial.

The Liberian National Police Maryland detachment is therefore encouraging all Liberians residing in Maryland and Liberia at large to turn over Jacob Howe ,Sie Prowd, Sebeh Allison,Benjamin Howe others are Nathaniel Howe, Judy Shannon ,Joe S.Allison, Francis Teba Allison and Ezekiel Doe Howe for their alleged role in the murder of victim Iweso Prowd. The individuals are currently on the run to face the fall weight of the Liberian law.

According to the Police charge sheet and preliminary investigation, the arrested six defendants were acquainted with their constitutional rights arrested and investigated based upon a reported mysterious death of Victim Iweso Prowd on March 6, 2022 at 04:00 hourr.

Members of the Liberian National Police and health practitioners upon hearing such terrible information visited the crime scene and upon arrival victim Iweso Prowd was seen severally injured all over his body. A 15-member coroner jury was set up and during their observation, they alleged that the deceased was been beating with all kinds of objects for which bruises were seen all over his body and subsequently led to his sudden death.

Medical reports revealed deep laceration and was pronounced dead by health authorities at the Barriken Clinic in Harper district few miles from the county’s capital Harper.

Following observations and investigations, defendant Edward Dweh Allison told investigators that the victim (Iweso Prowd) went to his house in their village to steal chicken.

According to defendant Edward Dweh Allison he heard feet sound around that makes him to come out of his house and when he came out he saw the (Iweso Prowd) in his kitchen and that was how he and his brother (Sunday Allison) caught and tired him and began to beat on him and even alarmed for others to come around.

Edward Dweh Allison and Sunday Allison said in their statements that when they came around, they both turned him over, but the people beat him and later gave the victim to his family.

Their act is in violation of the section 14.1 and 14.10 of the new panel code of the Republic of Liberia which is published by law.
