Montserrado County, Liberia–Former Representative Candidate Momo F. Danneh has called for increased government support for rural communities, mentioning the importance of empowering local farmers as crucial to addressing food security and economic development, mainly in rural Liberia.

As part of his campaign promises, Mr. Danneh has recently invested in an improved agricultural initiative, cultivating over Twenty_Five (25) acres of groundnuts, a move he believes could serve as a catalyst for rural growth and sustainability.

Speaking recently in Todee, lower Montserrado County, Mr. Danneh added that his commitment to supporting local farmers doesn’t end with his own agricultural endeavors but support local farmers in the Country.

Through his dedicated efforts, he has already empowered over Thirty (30) citizens of Montserrado County by providing them with the resources and training necessary to enhance their agricultural productivity. This initiative underscores his belief that when individuals in rural areas are equipped with the right tools and knowledge, they can highly contribute to the local economy.

“The potential of our rural communities is vast, yet they often lack the support needed to thrive. It is our responsibility as leaders and to support both the citizens and we anticipate government to invest in these areas and ensure that formers have what they need to succeed,” Mr. Danneh stated doing a visit at his agricultural project site.

Mr. Danneh project is particularly timely as Liberia continues to navigate challenges related to food production and economic stability. With rising costs and fluctuations in global markets, locally sourced agricultural products are becoming increasingly important. By fostering local agriculture, Mr. Dannie aims to create not only self-sufficiency but also market opportunities for citizens, enabling them to sustain their livelihoods.

Additionally, the former Montserrado District#1 Rep.  candidate expressed his hope that his efforts will inspire other stakeholders, including government officials and private sectors, to take an active role in community development. “We must work together to create a robust support system for our farmers. This requires collaboration across all levels government, private sector, and community organizations to ensure that resources are adequately allocated to those who need it most,” he emphasized.

As Mr. Danneh groundnut project progresses, he plans to hold workshops and training sessions focused on best agricultural practices, which he hopes will further empower the local populace. By sharing knowledge and promoting sustainable farming techniques, he aims to create a ripple effect, enhancing food production and creating livelihoods throughout the region.

Momo F. Danneh initiatives serve as a reminder of the potential within Montserrado County’s rural areas. With the right support and resources, these communities can flourish, ultimately contributing to the broader economic landscape of Liberia.

As discussions around agriculture, sustainability, and rural support grow, Mr. Danneh furthered that he stands out as a dedicated leader who is not just talking about change but actively working to implement it. His efforts involved the critical importance of investing in the individuals who are the backbone of Liberia’s agricultural sector.
