The Tiawan Gongloe movement for a BETTER LIBERIA “categorically refutes a propaganda trash being circulated by some unknown persons about Counselor Tiawan Saye Gongloe holding a secret meeting with supporters of Mr. Alexander Cummings in the United States for him to run as a running mate to Mr. Cummings in the 2923 presidential election.”

Cllr. Gongloe, Liberia’s former Solicitor General, former Labour Minister in the former Ellen Johnson Sirleaf government and recent past president of the Liberian National Bar Association, recently declared his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election.

In a statement issued at the weekend, Gongloe’s team said at no time has H (Counselor Gongloe) held any secret talk with Mr. Cummings, or his associates about being a vice presidential candidate, neither is Mrs. Edith Gongloe-Weh contemplating returning to Liberia to seek the senatorial position of Nimba County.

“We in the Gongloe movement for a BETTER LIBERIA strongly believe that this infantile propaganda is primarily being generated by politicians whose gross ineptitude and incompetence have failed the Liberian People over the years and because of their abject failures, which have exacerbated the sufferings and miseries of our downtrodden compatriots, are now panicking by the spontaneous political steam that Counselor Gongloe’s campaign is now eliciting,” the statement said.

“For all those who might have thought that the  Tiawan Saye Gongloe campaign was a fluke, they’re certainly in for a rude awakening, because the Liberian People are no more inclined to accept their lies, which are often followed by kleptocracy and miseries for the people.”

Since his arrival in the U.S. on May 14, 2022, Counselor Gongloe has been very busy crisscrossing this vast to country, to seek the inputs of Liberians of diverse backgrounds about future of our country and duly informing them about his BETTER LIBERIA good governance, the statement from the Gongloe Movement concluded.
