EDITOR’S NOTE: “The true reality of her death has just dawned on us: One of our greatest broadcast Journalism professionals we admired and respected so much…among the jewel in Liberian female Journalists corps!!”
The Female Journalists Association of Liberia regrets the death of one of its founding members and past President Janet Johnson, a FeJal announcement says..
Janet served as President of FeJAL from 2000 to 2005 where she was instrumental in convincing women Journalists to create platforms for the Women Mass Action for Peace to reach women in other parts of the country through the media.
She also brought women Journalists together to challenge discrimination across the Newsrooms and promote social justice for women Journalists.
The Liberian broadcast Journalist worked with Kiss FM, ELBC Radio Veritas and Star Radio and the Governance Commission as well as provided consultancy at several other public entities.
She lastly worked for the Independent Human Rights Commission as Director for Education, Training and Communications.
Our sympathy to her family friends and the Liberian media.
May her soul rest in peace!
