The Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) River Gee detachment in southeastern Liberia has arrested a 40-year-old man, Bahba Fofana with thirteen plates of high sensee Marijuana.
According to Mr. Joseph K. Gokar, Commander, LDEA, River Gee detachment said that Bahba Fofana was arrested at the Flowroken check point, while using the route leading to Tienpo statutory district where majority of River Gee gold camps are located.
Officer Gokar said when assessed, the street value of the three plates of narcotic substance is worth hundreds of thousands of Liberian dollars.
After thorough investigation by some LDEA personnel, Commander Gokar said the suspected drugs dealer, Fofana has admitted of being in possession of said drugs.
And he has also alleged that there are many drugs dealers, some of which are Sierra Leoneans and Nigerians that are involved in such illicit business across the country and beyond.
At the same time, Fofana has pleaded with the security apparatus to serve as state witness to identify and bring to book other narcotic drug dealers and users at the various gold camps in River Gee County.
LDEA Commander Gokar has called on the local authorities to enable empower the LDEA in whatever way possible to help curtail the high rate of illicit drug trafficking, which he warned, has the propensity to damage the lives of young people and also undermine state security.
