Voinjama–Sept. 13, 2018- The newly appointed Board chairman on the Board of Trustees of the Lofa County Community College in Voinjama, Lofa County has stressed the need for improving the institution.
Former Senator Sumo Galakpai Kupee noted that upgrading the college to a full flesh degree granting institution will be a great help to the youth of the County in preparing them for future challenges.
Mr. Kupee, who was recently appointed as the Board Chairman on the Board of Trustees of the College, outlined several key issues and projects that are very essential for implemented at the LCCC in Lofa County.
He outlined the establishment of a modern science laboratory; equip computer library, infrastructures and building of the human resource capacity among several others as key things to consider if the college must be elevated to boost learning activities at the second highest learning institution in Lofa County.
The former Lofa County Senior Senator and now current Board Chair of the College Board of Trustees asserted that he will work with his colleagues on the Board in making sure that these projects are implemented at the Community College.
He disclosed that he is prepare to lobby with international organizations and also Liberians residing in the Diaspora to help provide more support to the college since the college does not have the adequate funding to undertake these projects.
He believed that the establishment of the science laboratory and computer library among other things at the college will also help to build the capacities of the youth attending the college.
The former Lofa County Senator has also commended President George Weah for appointing to serve as Board Chair of the college.
He further promised to work with colleagues to working in ensuring that quality education is provided at the college.
Honorable Sumo G. Kupee has at the same time condemned the gruesome killings that taking place I Lofa County, describing it as cruel and further called for speedy trails of these perpetrators.
He said the act is not only posing fear to Lofians, but also to scare away investors coming to the County and could also have the propensity of undermining peace, security and development in the County.
