The Director General of the Center for National Documents and Records Agency (CNDRA), D. Nelson Bearngar is encouraging government workers to put their duties first and put politics aside during regular working hours.”You should be passionate about the work you do and swear loyalty to your job and nation,” he stated.

He was speaking on Thursday< May 10, 2024 while visiting with the Deputy Director General, Gabriel Domah and team at the National Public Library of Liberia located on Ashmun Street in central Monrovia, a CNDRA press release said.

The new CNDRA Director General reminded archives employees that archiving is a technical field and not the place to debate politics, so when they come to work, they should put politics aside.

“You never know who’s watching you from a distance, so your performance on the job could earn you a recommendation for a more senior role,” he told the workers.

DG Bearngar emphasized to the staff that only Liberians has the ability to improve Liberia; outsiders are incapable of doing so.

He has also expressed disapproval of people entering government service purely for financial gain.
The CNDRA boss observed that individuals in Liberia are going into the public sector in an attempt to get richer.
As a government employee, I am not here to profit unlawfully; rather, I am here to serve my country.

“What you give to someone is what you get back because if you cheat someone, someone else will cheat on you as well” he noted. I met the institution financially challenged,” Mr. Bearngar said in reference to the CNDRA’s financial situation.
