A 36-year-old man identified as Matthew Kaiblee has allegedly committed suicide in David Cee Town in District two in Liberia’s southern Grand Bassa County.
According to eyewitness and other accounts, the deceased allegedly hanged himself recently due to family rejection, because he had the epilepsy condition.
Epilepsy is defined as “a neurological disorder marked by sudden recurrent episodes of sensory disturbance, loss of consciousness, or convulsions, associated with abnormal electrical activity in the brain.”
The deceased, whose lifeless body was found tied to the roof of a traditional thatch hut, was reportedly living with the epilepsy and those living in the town were aware of his condition.
Due to this sickness, he was said to have been abandoned by friends and family members in the town and was unable to maintain a relationship, something that 31-year-old man repeatedly complained about.
The late Matthew was a man of faith who went to church, but on several occasions threatened to commit suicide and was also asking God for mercy before allegedly committing the act. Report by Garmah Never Lomo
