Market women and other marketers at a major market in the Liberian capital, Monrovia say President George Manneh Weah has disappointed them.

Their spokesperson at the Nancy B. Doe Market in the City’s Sinkor suburb is claiming that the head of the CDC government has abandoned them.

The marketers are said to be frustrated because the government of President Weah ‘has forgotten about the common people who voted him to power for change’ in 2017.

‘’Since we elected President Weah, he has refused to visit us and he promised to come back to us, but we have not seen him, let president George M. Weah know that we elected him the poor people, and now he is not looking at it, is bad for the next election,’’ Madam Natie noted.

The Liberian leader and his Coalition for Democratic Change came to power nearly one year ago on the mantra, “Change for hope”.

In an interview recently, the Co- Chairlady of the Nancy B. Doe Market, Madam Theresa Brown Natie said they voted President Weah for positive change, something they are not seeing in the country.

The Nancy B. Doe marketers expressed regret that although they campaigned for President Weah to be elected and have control over the Country economy, they are yet to see that.

Madam Theresa Natie, who has been selling assorted goods for the past 15 years, said the high exchange rate and the demand of the US dollars have become a serious challenge facing local businesses across the country.

‘’We want President Weah to help us provide business loan and scholarship as he promised us during the campaign process,’’ she Said.

‘’The Marketers call on President Weah to constantly visit the market places to know what is affecting the marketers.”
