Maryland County Records COVID-19 Death Case

HARPER, Liberia- Cases of the coronavirus pandemic continue to  increase in Liberia, with Maryland County recording its second case of the disease in Harper.

The latest case, which was discovered on June 26, 2020, involves a 70-year-old woman who came from Grand Kru County on June 12, 2020 and reported to the Pleebo Health Center in Pleebo.

But she was later referred to the J.J. Dossen Hospital in Harper City, County Health Officer Dr. Methodius George told the Tubman University Radio

Dr. George said the specimen of the victim, who died the same day, was taken at the hospital and sent to Monrovia.

He has meanwhile, used the occasion to call on residents of the county to continue taking all of the preventive measures. This includes social distancing, wearing of masks and hand washing, as no one knows all of those the deceased might have interacted with prior to her demise. Report by Charles Gbayor
