5 Police Impersonators Arrested With Forged ID Cards In Monrovia

TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- Police in Monrovia’s Paynesville suburb specifically, the popular Red Light commercial district, recently arrested five men impersonating as police men and employees of the Justice Ministry.

They have now been formally charged and sent to court for prosecution.

According to the Police charge sheet, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, defendants Cornelius Deacon Neville, Perter J. Johnson, Moses Kolako, Peter A. Kollie Jr. and Abraham Saah were arrested, advised of their Constitutional/Marandi rights which they waived, investigated and subsequently charged with the commission of the crimes Impersonating official and Forgery based upon their involvement into performing active Police duties within the Redllight, Paynesville environs whereas, they are not Bonafide Police Personnel.

During Police/CSD investigation conducted with the parties involved, it was observed that, the crimes impersonating official and Forgery of Identification Cards did occur.

The Police charge sheet said, defendants Cornelius Deacon Neville, Perter J. Johnson, Moses Kolako, Peter A. Kollie Jr. and Abraham Saah actually perpetrated the crime, as they were seen performing active Police/Traffic duties extorting cash from motorists within the Redlight, Paynesville environs on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

Having thoroughly investigated the herein mentioned defendants, the below findings were established as to wit:

  1. 1. That, the crime impersonating official did occur. 
  1. That, the crime was actually perpetrated by defendants Cornelius Deacon Neville, Peter J. Johnson, Moses Kolako, Peter A. Kollie Jr. and Abraham Saah who knowingly, purposely, criminally and with the intent to commit the crime without any justifiable reason/s dressed and purported themselves to be Police/Traffic offices, thus performing active Police functioning. 
  1. That, defendants Cornelius Deacon Neville, Perter Johnson, Moses Kolako, Peter A. Kollie Jr. and Abraham Saah were arrested performing active Police/Traffic duties wearing Police paraphernalia. 
  1. That, defendant Cornelius Deacon Neville had in his position fake Police identification card bearing LNP number 4546; while defendant Peter A. Kollie Jr. had expired Ministry of Justice identification card bearing number 16-01. 

Wherefore and in view of the foregoing, including the recovery of identification cards and printing photographs of the defendants, the investigation has resolved to charge defendants Cornelius Deacon Neville, and Peter A. Kollie Jr. with the commission of the crimes impersonating officials which is in violation of Chapter 12, Subchapter chapter B, Section 12.35 and Forgery of Identification Cards which is in violation of Chapter 15 Subchapter E Section 15.70,,

Defendants Moses Kolako, Peter J. Johnson, and Abraham Saah are charged with the commission of the crime impersonating officials chapter 12, sub chapter B, 12.35 of the revised Penal code of the Republic of Liberia pending trial by court; whereas, others to be identified be likewise charge in absentia.

However, four of the alleged impersonators were released following a bail bond filed by their lawyer, while the remaining one was sent to jail.
