No weapon found at Rep. Yekeh Kolubah’s home in police search

Nothing illegal or dangerous was found at his Monrovia home on Wednesday, after the Liberia National Police effected a Monrovia City Court warrant trough the Ministry of Justice on Wednesday issued a search and seizure warrant on district number ten lawmaker Yekeh Kolubah,.

The search and seizure operations came on the eve of the June 7 assembly/protest slated for this Friday.

The court warrant was served on Representative Yekeh Kolubah upon his released from the police headquarters he was escorted by the sheriff of court along with arm police officers.

The search and seizure warrant permitted the Ministry of Justice to search the home of representarive Kolubah whether he has deadly weapon, but found nothing of such was found.

Earlier on Wednesday, lawmaker Kolubah was signed for by Representative Marvin Cole of Bong County district #3 through the office of the Speaker and to visit the police headquarters whenever he is needed.

Rep. Kolubah was arrested early on Wednesday morning, after it was alleged that he had ordered the beating of a man believe to be a notorious criminal in the Old road community.

The victim alleged that his beaten was ordered by representative Kolubah based upon that allegation heavy tension erupted at his house which he refused to surrender him and armed officers barracked his house.

Meanwhile, it was a chaotic scene between police officers and supporters of Rep. Yekeh Kolubah which resulted in throwing stones at police officer.

A friction erupted when some supporters of lawmaker Kolubah went marching towards the University of Liberia main campus, chanting slogans such as, “thiefy-thiefy, rogue rogue, George Weah rogue, Bhofal Chambers rogue rogue.”

When police saw them, they forcibly moved on them on grounds that they should cross the second lane on the right, which they were trying to obey. The police pressure prompted them to react by throwing stones at police officers.

The stone throwing later subsided, as supporters of the Lawmakers then left the area and melted into the nearby communities amidst the rains.

Some of Rep. Kolubah’s supporters were later bundled into the back of police pickups by Liberian ex-general only identified as Power.

The Montserrado County District #10 lawmaker was accompanied to the national police headquarters by the opposition ALP leader, Benoni Urey, Abraham Darious Dillion and radio talk show host, Henry P. Costa.

At the same time, officers of the Liberia national police move to the University of Liberia and dispersed a group of students who were protesting the arrest of the Chairman of the Student Unification Party (SUP), Carlor Tingban Edison for reason that is yet to be known.

Four body guards of representative Kolubah are currently in police custody undergoing investigation.
