Police Arrest Man On The Run For Allegedly Attempting To Commit Murder

KAKATA, Liberia– Police in Kakata City, Margibi County have arrested a 35-year-old man identified as Zulu Paye, who had been on the run for alleged criminal attempt to commit murder and aggravated assault.

The suspect was arrested by the help of others on Saturday at 14:17 hours GMT and taken to the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police Margibi Detachment pending transfer to Careysburg, Montserrado County.

While in Police custody, suspect Paye confessed to committing the crime out of jealousy.

According to a Police source, Zulu Paye said Tina Kennedy,  his fiancee has been rejecting him in bed in recent days.

Moreover, the suspect said Tina attitude towards him changed after he lost or abandoned his job and went with her to Gbarpolu on her father’s funeral.

Being that I have become financially impotent to which I am unable to shoulder burden in the home, she has gotten involved in extra marital affairs,” Zulu explained.

Zulu also revealed that he and Tina, a woman he has five children by got into heated confusion during the night hours of October 29, 2021 which extended up to 04:00 AM October 30, 2021 at which time he used cutlass to chop her out of anger.

For her part, the victim, Tina Kennedy, age 32, said in May of 2021 misunderstanding ensued between she and the suspect and they both decided to go to her parents’ home in  Gbapolu county for settlement.

Accordding to her, after the settlement by her parents they returned to Zannah Town adding that things had been okay between them.

Victim Tina lamented that on October 29, 2021 she went to work on a farm called “BE SERIOUS” and returned home, but at 22:00hrs her husband entered into their room with a cutlass (MOB), and begin to chop her with it.

She noted that as the result of her husband’s action three of her right fingers got cut while she sustained multiple wounds on her body, head and muscles.

Tina at the same time said there was no confusion between them prior to the incident.

She was then taken to the Barcolleh Health center in Kakata for medical care.
