Grand Gedeh County Representative Dr. George Boley and former LPC rebel leader has refuted allegations by fellow lawmaker Dixon Sebo that he (Boley) killed Sebo’s family members during the civil war in Liberia.
The civil war in this West African country officially ended in 2003, with an estimated 250,000 people killed by various armed factions during the 14 years fratricidal conflict.
Rep Sebo attacked his colleague in plenary, according to Rep. Boley who said this latest allegation is the second after a previous one on March 25, 2021.
Rep. Dixon Sebo
Sebo claims Boley, who headed the armed faction known as the Liberia Peace Council (LPC), murdered his (Sebo’s) family in Sinoe County during the war. The LPC was mainly active in the southeastern region including Sinoe, Grand Kru and Rivercess Counties among other areas.
But in his reaction, Boley denied ever being in Sinoe County and that it couldn’t be true that he ordered or directed anyone to kill any of Sebo’s family members. He further clarified that he did not kill anybody in the entire country during the war years.
Rep. George Boley
Addressing a news conference at his Capitol Hill Office, the lawmaker was emphatic that “there is not an iota of truth to this allegation told by Rep. Sebo”.
He said he has previously been victim of lies told by other people as Sebo. If Sebo cannot provide evidence to substantiate his claims, Boley wants his accuser to keep mute.
