FISH TOWN, Liberia- Citizens in River Gee County have lavished praises on Senator Jonathon “Boycharles” Sogbie for what they called his continuous support and developmental initiatives across this south-eastern County.
Senator Sogbie (opposition CPP), a former Liberian football star, is one of fifteen Senators ticket during the 2020 Special Senatorial election.
He received praises during a recent tour of the County to appreciate his constituents for voting him into office.
The commendations were extended when he appeared on “ Face To Face “, the premier talk show on the County’s #1 Radio station 90.s FM in Fish Town, when he appeared during his appreciation visit.
According to some of the citizens, Sen. Sogbie is the first lawmaker in the history of River Gee County in less than a year to fulfill his campaign promises and we are very proud of his gesture to the County and its people.
“Since the formation of this county none of our elected lawmaker have fill full their campaign promises in less than a year but he did and we are very happy about that,” one of them said.
Sen. Sogbie recently donated 5.5KVA generator for Radio Gbeapo 95.5Mhz and also provided half million Liberian dollar to the Muslim community for the construction of their school in Gbeapo Kanweaken, food ration and X-rays machine at the FishTown referral Hospital.
The opposition Senator is also on record for providing 200,000.00 two thousand Liberian dollars for high school students who wrote last year West African Senior Schools Certificate Examination as lunch.
On February 9, 2022, Sen. Sogbie is also said to have donated amplifier in built speaker to both the Dominion Christian Followership in Kanweaken and the Pastoral Network in FishTown value at seven hundred and fifty USD each.
This news outlet, www.newspublictrust.com has gathered that through negotiation with the management of Orange Liberia GSM company, this Senator managed to have influenced the construction of a tower, which is now providing both network and internet coverage to citizens in Sarbo,Woffiken.
Several Social media alerts Facebook posts disclosed that additional eight towel will provide both network and internet coverage are expected to be construed across the entire County .
Towns to benefit the Orange tower include Kronoken in Webbo, Klaken, Sawken and Pronoken in Gbeapo, Tawarken, River Gbage,Kilepo Kanweaken .
Speaking on “Face to Face” on Radio Gee, Sen. Sogbie said he will continue to work with Orange Liberia to see River Gee County connected through GSM connectivity.
“Our people in other parts of this County finds it very difficult and hard in communicating with people in other part of the world but that will change and very soon,” Sen. Sogbie said.
The River Gee lawmaker has also expressed thanks and appreciation to President George Mannah Weah for his kind gesture by recently distributing vehicles and motorcycles to the chiefs and local leaders across Liberia.
“He did extremely well by recognizing those chiefs but the money that used in purchasing those vehicles came from our Country budget and not his personal money,” the former Lone Star football teammate of President Weah said.
Sen. Sogbie told his constituents that the Liberian Legislature allotted 10 Million United States Dollars in the national budget for the President’s engagement and that was used.
