SANNIQUELLIE, Liberia–Nimba County Senator Prince Yormie Johnson has lauded the people of this northeastern county for their support in bringing the Unity Party-NDR Alliance to state power, removing the CDC government who he described as “looters”.

Sen. Johnson, who few months ago said he regretted supporting President Boakai’s Unity Party during the 2023 elections, told Nimbaians in the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Sanniquellie on Thursday, May 16, 2023, that the decision taken by his people was in the right direction.

Speaking during a Thanksgiving Service organized by Liberia’s Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Sen. Johnson stressed that the rescue mission would not have been successful without the people of Nimba.

The Nimba County’s Senior Senator, who is also a Christian preacher, indicated that with all the money and intimidations during the electoral period, the people of Nimba stood their grounds in ensuring that the county produces a Vice President of Liberia.

Sen. Johnson urged citizens of Nimba to remind supportive and not get deter by anything that.will distract their objective.

The vocal Senator further stated that the votes from Nimba County in 2023 elections made it possible for the rescue mission, pointing out that it was better the CDC government was removed, describing them as state looters.

Sen. Johnson made comment while touring with the Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung in his home county.

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, VP Koung conclude d his visitation in three districts of the nine electoral districts in Nimba in a Thanksgiving program in the county. The three districts toured by VP Koung recently are District#1 Gompa City, District#2 Sanniquellie City, District#3 Yekepa.
