(Last Updated On: )

The Liberia National (LNP) says it has with immediate effect disrobed Montserrado County Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Joshua During for alleged Sexual Assault.

Reports say the alleged sexual assault was carried out in the office of the Police commissioner at the LNP headquarters on Capitol Hill recently

In a press release issued over the weekend, the LNP said DCP During’s investigation stemmed from allegation registered against him by a female police officer (name withheld) who claimed that she was sexually abused by Deputy Commissioner During.

Based on the allegation, the LNP says DCP During has been subjected to an immediate investigation to establish facts surrounding the allegations of sexual assault.

“The public can be assured that a full scale probe is presently being conducted by the Crime Services Department of the Liberia National Police to authenticate facts into the alleged Sexual Assault. The Administration of the Liberia National Police under the watchful eyes of Hon. Patrick Toe Sudue will not shield any officer of the LNP who engages in any form of unauthodox practices,” added the LNP release signed by its Spokesman Moses Carter.

The national LNP has meanwhile, assured the public that they will be duly informed on the outcome of the investigation.

Some time ago in Maryland County, another female police officer filed a complaint against her senior officer for nonsexual related assault.

But the female officer was said to have been physically assaulted by the male officer and the matter had to be brought down to Monrovia for investigation by the LNP’s Professional Standard Division.
