SPORTS: A Chapter Of Liberia Kickball Federation Gets New Leadership

Liberia’s traditional sports, kickball has made several appointments within Margibi County, with Roland Tarr Nyumah being appointed ss Chairperson.

According to the national leadership of the organization the Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF-) through it secretariat stated that such appointment marks a new beginning for the Sub-association.

It added that the new leadership will commence work with the upcoming League Season of the LKF- Margibi Sub-association.

Making the disclosure on 19 February through the association official Facebook said such appointment takes immediately effect as of such appointment.

Those appointed include Roland Michael Tarr Nyumah Chairperson, Mohammed J.  Kemokai – Co- Chairperson, George Mulbah- Vice president for Operation , D Franklin Malema Menbuah Secretary -General , J- Fatu Kamara- Assistant Secretary- General and Vera Veira Karway , Treasure.

Speaking through an interview with our Margibi County reporter Mr. Nyumah lauded the national leadership of the Liberia Kickball Federation for such appointment.

“To be honest this is not a surprise to me because I saw this coming and moreover I am not a novice in such a sport ‘ said Nyumah.

Chairman Nyumah also thanked his predecessor Alieu  Jalloh for the recommendation and moreover for trusting him during his tenure as Chairperson to serve as his principal deputy.

About the newly appointed Chairperson:

Roland Michael Tarr Nyumah is an educator and a sports administrator. He graduated from the Cuttington University Junior College where he obtained a AA Degree in Education.

He currently works at St.Paul Lutheran High School in Kakata, Margibi County where he holds the position as Vice Principal for Administration at such noble institution.

In sports; Nyumah is the Secretary -General for Quincy Sports Association a football based association in Kakata, Margibi County that comprises of kickball and football club. Nyumah once serve as Secretary to Steering Committee of the Margibi Sports Association during the 2020-2021 National County Sports Meet.

He previously serves as the Vice Chairperson for Administration of the LFK- Margibi Sub-association under the leadership of the than Chairperson Alieu Jalloh.

With the appointment of Roland Michael Tarr Nyumah and Mohammed Kemokai in Margibi County kickball lovers within the County embrace such appointment dued to the two having much idea in such area.

At the same time, the former chairperson of the LKF- Margibi County Sub-association Alieu Jalloh has been appointed as Coordinators for the region.

Mr. Jalloh new portfolio covers Margibi, Nimba, Bong, Grand Bassa and Bomi Counties in which he will provide oversight in the smooth running of the league in the various Sub-association.

The 2023/2024 League Season of the LKF- Margibi Sub-association is expected to kickstart next month March with a jamboree and the 2023-2024 LKF-Margibi Sub-Association Super Cup.

United Angles Kickball Club won the 2022/2023 League Championship while on the other hand Destiny Girls Kickball Club clinched the 2023/2024 LKF-Margibi Sub-Association Super Cup.
