Sanniquellie, Liberia– Ahead of the Nimba County Community College (NCCC) 4th convocation commencement this Saturday, the College Nursing Program has held its 3rd Oath, Honor, and the Badging and Capping Program for 56 students in this northeastern Liberian city.
Speaking at the program in Sanniquellie over 303 kilometers from Monrovia, Madam Tarloh Munah Quiwonkpa urged Nursing students at the Nimba County Community College to uphold the ethics of the nursing profession.
Mrs. Quiwonkpa, widow of the slain former People’s Redemption Council (PRC) member, General Thomas Quiwonkpa.
Addressing the nursing students and prospective graduates, she said the nursing profession is a profession of respect and confidentiality.
As such, Mrs. Quiwonkpa wants the prospective nursing graduates to keep the secret of their patience at all times.
She described the nursing career as a selfless profession.`
Madam Quiwonkpa who served as a guest speaker for the College Nursing Program 3rd Oath and Honor and 4th Badging and Capping Program asserted that nursing profession is key to the wellbeing of human development.
At the same time, Giftee Teah, a female student of the Nimba County Community College Nursing Program over the weekend received two prestigious certificates.
They received certificates of academic excellence and clinical performance.
Presenting the certificates to student Teah, Madam Laelia Walker, Director of the NCCC Nursing program said the certificates were meant to recognize student Teah for academic and clinical performance.
It was the NCCC Nursing Program’s 3rd Oath and Honor and 4th Badging and Capping ceremony, which was followed by a presentation of 38 Nursing students who have successfully completed their academic requirement and they are expected to obtain their associate of science degrees.
Presenting the 38 nursing students to the College Administration, the Director of the College Nursing Program maintains that the students have reached the academic benchmark to be offered an Associate of Science degree.
The Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mr. Peter Ben Received the 38 Nursing students on behalf of the College Administration and appreciated the faculty of the Program for their tireless efforts in training young Liberians, especially in the Sciences.
