According to the information gathered, the 19-year-old woman identified as Bendu was residing in her parent’s house, but she was recently put out of the home by her step mother, Victoria Konah Tour. Her father is said to have approved the move due what was describes as the young woman’s disobedient behavior.
Bendu on Monday admitted to police that indeed she did throw the baby into the St. John rive, because she was put out by her parent’s home and she has no means of fending for the child survivor.
Furthermore, suspect Bendu stated that she was reacting to her parent’s decision, something that led her with no alternative but to throw the baby in the river.
The alleged perpetrator is currently in the custody of the police and expected to be transferred to the Capital City of Nimba County, Sanniquellie city where she will be charge and awaits court trial.
However, many of the citizens commenting on the matter said, suspect Bendu throwing her baby into the St. John river was out of frustration and more besides who could help her take care of the child when the father is paying less attention, giving this prevailing economic crisis.
Some added that she needed counseling. While others she should be stone to death for carrying out such wackiness against that innocent child.
Others commented that it was necessary to have given that child to someone who is in need of it rather than throwing it into the river.
Howbeit, there are others who are insisting that the law must take its course.
