A mother of six, identified as Gormah Johnson, is said to have hung herself to death in the Cook spoon Hill Community along the Pipeline-Johnsonville Road, outside Monrovia, before dawn on Wednesday.

The late Gomah’s in-law, Christian Johnson told the local Inquirer newspaper, that  though he too occupied a room in the three-bed room house where the deceased was discovered hanging on a rope with a gallon by her side, his room had been kept locked because he no longer sleeps in it.
However,  he explained that he was informed about the incident when the grand child of the deceased who is around eight years of age and happens to be one of the three occupants in the house raised the alarm in the early morning hours.
            The Late Gomah
He said Gomah and her husband (his brother) usually leave their Sanoyea District residence in Bong County making time to visit the family in Monrovia but this time Gomah whose turn it was to be with her children. She came before Liberia’s July 26 Independence Day to care for her last daughter and grandchild with the agreement that her oldest daughter had to go to Kakata on an affiliation program as a student nurse.
Reports gathered that the child apparently witnessed the incident and cleverly decided to inform neighbors though he did not first inform his aunt who said she was on the lookout for her mother after realizing that she was not in the room.
Meanwhile, the daughter’s narrative was that her mother always spoke of unseen individuals who were after her life and even stated that a forthright ago, the deceased told her that when she dies; they should sell the oil and take care of themselves.
She said while discouraging her mother from talking about death,  the deceased told her to be careful as well because as she put it, “The people want kill her as well”.
