12-Year-Old Lightning Victim In Cape Mount Cries For Help

A 12-year-old boy identified as Abraham Samah is in severe pain and is crying for help, after he was struck by lightning recently in Liberia’s western Grand Cape Mount County.

The incident happened on Sunday November 14, 2021, at 4 pm in Tewor MENDEMASSA and the boy sustained serious burn.

In a phone interview, the survivor of the lightning strike told www.newspublictrust.com that he is currently living with his grandmother who has no means of providing pay his medical.

The lightning victim’s grandmother is also appealing for an assistance towards the treatment of her grandson, adding that he might either lose his private part or may become infertile, if he is not urgently treated.

According to the little boy, they were three in number escorting one of their friends to the hand pump when the lightning struck and hit all three of them.

But his condition among is critical, something that needs serious medical attention.

In pain, the 12-year-old boy explained that when the lightning struck him, the fire burnt his trousers on him inflicting seriously burn.

The lightning hit another teenager who was sitting on his front poach in Grand Cape Mount  County on the same day.

That boy fainted but he has since recovered, after he was taken to the clinic for medical treatment.

The lightning burnt the entire right side of little Samah including his two tigh along with his private server.

The ages of the affected children range from 12-14 and the lightning strikes occurred on Sunday evening, November 24, 2021.

One report says two of the children were escorting their friend to the hand pump to fetch water when the Lighting struck and hit a coconut tree that the three of them had just reached.

At the same time, another 13-year-old boy was also hit after he left his room and he was sitting in front of his house, when the lightning struck a palm tree over the house with two small rooms.

They were rushed to the Jenewomde clinic in Grand Cape Mount County.

One of the children, 12-year-old Abraham Sama was more serious than the others.
