Dara Willie Humanitarian Foundation And Thompson M. Nana Humanitarian Foundation Join Forces To Support Communities in Kakata Margibi County

KAKATA, Liberia- In a heart-warming display of community spirit and generosity, the Dara Willie Humanitarian Foundation and Thompson M. Nana Humanitarian Foundation, have partnered with the Thompson M. Nana Humanitarian Foundation have provided essential food and non-food items to several communities here in Kakata, Margibi County and its environs.

Philanthropic Miss Dara V. Willie and Mr. Thompson M. Nana made the donation, which is a timely contribution ahead of Liberia’s 178th Independence Day celebrations this Saturday July 26, 2025.

The donation event took place in the Telecom Community, which was attended by many residents of the area, community leaders, including beneficiaries for several communities in the North central region of Liberia. Hundreds of families in the Kakata region are benefiting from the generous donations. Items donated included Liberia’s staple food, rice, clothing, hygiene products and other essential supplies.

Miss Dara V. Willie, chief executive officer of the Dara V. Willie Humanitarian foundation INC emphasized the importance of solidarity and community support during challenging times.

“Our mission is to uplift and empower the communities we serve. As we approach this transform lives especially on a national holiday, it is vital to ensure that every family has the resources they need to celebrate and participate in the festivities with joy. This partnership with the Thompson M. Nana Humanitarian Foundation reinforces our commitment to humanitarian efforts and community empowerment,” Miss Willie said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Nana Humanitarian Foundation, Mr. Thompson M. Nana echoed these sentiments, mentioning the importance of collective action in times of need. “Working together as a united front allows us to make a more substantial impact in the lives of those who need it most. This collaboration with the Dara Willie Humanitarian Foundation is a testament to the power of partnership in promoting human welfare,” said Mr. Nana.

The event was characterized by the playing of local music, with traditional dance performances as well as speeches that inspired hope and resilience among community members particularly in Telecom, Wenneh Town, Kpelle Town, and Gbovala Communities.

Local leaders praised the efforts of both foundations and encouraged others to contribute to ongoing humanitarian initiatives within Kakata and beyond.

“On behalf of the people of Telecom, we want to say thank you to the two foundation for this great partnership, this is what our people especially people living with visual impairment and disabilities look forward to. We look forward for bigger opportunities in the Forty-Two communities in Kakata and beyond. We are happy because the gesture came at the time where our people especially our old folks are in need,” the Telecom Community Chairman explained.

Several residents expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the donations, which they said would alleviate some of the burdens faced by families in the region. Many thanked the foundations for their timely assistance, especially in light of the upcoming celebrations that typically bring added pressure on household budgets.

As Liberia prepares to celebrate its 178th Independence Day this Saturday, the efforts of the Dara Willie Humanitarian Foundation and the Thompson M. Nana Humanitarian Foundation serve as a beacon of hope, encouraging a spirit of cooperation and kindness that resonates across various communities in Kakata.

They said that the collaborative approach by the two foundation not only addresses immediate needs but also fosters a sense of unity and shared responsibility among residents for the well-being of all.
