As LNP Investigates Attack On One Of Its Officers By Motorcyclists

“For Abuse Of Authority And Disobeying Lawful Order”

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has Suspended two of its Officers for one month without pay with immediate for Abuse of Authority and Disobeying Lawful Orders, a LNP press statement says.

The suspended officers are; Patrolmen Teddy R. C. Boulner (ID# 6351) and Gabriel Flomo (ID# 6017) assigned at Zone Five Base Police Station, and Lofa County Detachment respectively.

The Two officers were seen riding on a motorbike without wearing helmets, which contravened Section 6.1.3.”Abuse of Authority” and 6.4(a) “Disobeying Lawful Orders”,and enshrined in the Administrative Instructions on Discipline and Professional Standards.

Meanwhile, those suspended officers have been ordered to turn over all government properties including badges, uniforms, ID- Cards, Boots and desist from identifying with the LNP while undergoing their suspension to avoid further embarrassment.

The Liberia National Police cautions all other officers to take keen note and act accordingly as it will not relent to reprimand any violators of the rules and regulations of the State.

Police Investigates Attack on Officer by motorcyclists

(Monrovia, Liberia-June 24, 2024) The Liberia National Police (LNP) has launched a comprehensive investigation into an attack on one of its officers during the enforcement of safety regulations for motorcyclists.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 16, 2024, when two men riding a motorcycle crashed into a checkpoint behind the Health Ministry on the Congo Town Back Road where Patrolman 𝗘𝘅𝗼𝗱𝘂𝘀 𝗧. 𝗞𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗲 and other Officers were regulating traffic The assailants struck Officer Kerdoe on the head with an object and fled the scene.

Officer Kerdoe sustained severe injury and was promptly taken to a local clinic, but due to the seriousness of his condition, he was later transferred to the JFK Medical Hospital for further medical attention where he received Thirty-Two (32) stitches on the wound.

The LNP expressed deep concern over this barbaric act committed by the unknown motorcyclists and has issued a stern warning to potential perpetrators, emphasizing that it will not hesitate to take appropriate actions against anyone involved.

Inspector General of Police, Col. Gregory O.W. Coleman has however, reaffirmed the LNP’s commitment to addressing public safety concerns, particularly those related to motorcycle accidents.
