A mother of a three and half-year-old boy who recently suffered first-degree burn on his head, Madam Gbesey-ta Binda has launched an SOS appeal for assistance to save her son from dying.
Little Nemiah Binda met his fate in Janpkai-ta Boryotmah village, Liberia’s central Bong County, when while sitting under farm kitchen when it was gutted by fire.
But as the child tried to leave the burning kitchen along with a friend, he stomped his toe on the burning wood and fell, thus causing him to be exposed to the blaze, the his mother explained.
According to boy’s mother, Gbesey-ta, she left him under the farm kitchen along with his friend, as she had gone to till the soil on the farm.
After the incident, little Nemiah was first rushed to the C.B. Dumbar Hospital in the city of Gbarnga several miles away, due to the closure of the Phebe Hospital which was not operational as many of their health workers had been hit by the coronavirus.
Due to the critical nature of his burn, the little boy was later transferred to the Ganta hospital.
As little Nemiah got severely burnt from his head, he is currently unable to even eat food.
Meanwhile, his mother has said she is now in dying need of financial assistance from the government of Liberia, humanitarian organizations as well as other well-meaning individuals to save her son’s life.
