Partisans and supporters of the All Liberian Coalition Party (ALCOP) headed by former Finance Minister Lusinee F. Kamara have been venting out reservations about the fate of the collaboration agreement reached with the ruling Unity Party of President Joseph Boakai after the 2013 elections.

In a resolution issued at “its first major post-election lesson-learnt retreat” in the Monrovia suburb of Paynesville over the weekend, the ALCOP members resolved to “firmly to review its collaboration with the ruling Unity Party if it fails to timely address these concerns.”

Kamara, the ALCOP Standard Bearer said at the time of the forging of the collaboration with Unity Party that it was in line with ALCOP’s manifesto believing in providing immediate solutions to governance challenges confronting Liberia, including human rights, freedom and justice; comprehensive social security services for all Liberians; and embarking on economic policy reforms and increasing investment opportunities.

  1. That the party endeavors to ensure the promotion and empowerment of members of the youth and women congresses of the party.
  2. That the party reiterates calls for the unconditional respect of the agreement signed with the Unity Party government in the 2023 elections and continues with constructive engagement for good governance.
  3. That members of the party are deeply concern about the failure of the Unity Party to implement its agreement with ALCOP in the areas of appointments in government.
  4. That the party resolved to remind the Unity Party of its full adherence to all commitments of the collaboration agreed upon, including granting of national holidays at the end of Ramadan and on Abraham day each year, through an Executive order or a legislation, beginning with the next Abraham day.
