ALICOR/Internews Host Colourful 13th World Radio Day Celebrations In Tubmanburg

Yesterday, Tuesday, February 13, 2924, this Year’s 13th World Radio Day celebrations were held in the western Liberian city of Tubmanburg, Bomi County, kicking off with a parade through the streets of the city center to the Tubmanburg City Hall.

The colurful parade was led by a local marching band which culminated in a formal indoor ceremony attended by two new Lawmakers, Nyan Flomo, Nernard Benson, ECOWAS Representative in Liberia, Ambassador Josephine Nkrumah, the City Mayor, USAIS and Swedish Embassy officials in Liberia ,

The program was organized by the Association of Liberian Community Radio (ALICOR) with support from Internews Liberia and was attended by scores of Liberian radio Journalists and other media practioners,.school children, a cross section of citizens including persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

Proclaimed in 2011 by the Member States of UNESCO and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly (A/RES/67/124) in 2012 as an International Day, February 13 became World Radio Day (WRD),  unesco world radio day – Search (bing.com)
