Amid COVID-19, REO-International Liberia Gives Back To Society

GBARNGA, Liberia-In continuation of it efforts in the fight against COVID-19 in Liberia, REO-International Liberia has presented several boxes of essential medical equipment to the Phebe Hospital in Suakoko District, the County Treatment Unit, the C. B. Dunbar hospital in the central Bong County.

Items or medical equipment donated include, ten pulse Oximeters, ten forehead infrared thermometers, and ten electronic blood pressure monitors to the County Treatment Unit, 5 sets each to the Phebe Hospital and the Charles Burgess Dunbar Maternal Hospital.

Presenting the health equipment to the different health centers in the county recently, REO-International Liberia Office Manager, Edina Kai-Lewis said the gesture is the organization own contributing of helping the government through the Ministry of Health, especially the Bong County Health Team, as they continue to wage war against the coronavirus pandemic.

Madam Kai-Lewis, who conveyed a special statement on behalf of her boss, the organization Executive Director, Eric Wilfred Olson, said that Mr. Olson is very much passionate about the wellbeing of health workers.

He wants to see them properly equipped, well paid in order to give their best to the ordinary people.

According to the group’s executive, they want to see an effective and resilient healthcare delivery system in Liberia, which is the heartbeat of Mr. Olson

The REO-International Liberia says it remains commitment in supporting all healthcare providers across the country despite the limited funds.

Taking delivery of the supplies on behalf of the Phebe Hospital and School of Nursing, the referral hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Jefferson Sibley lauded the organization for the support and care towards the healthcare delivery system of Bong County.

He said though the boxes of equipment donated are in small quantities, but are very essential to Phebe and C. B. Dunbar hospitals as well as the County’s COVID-19 Treatment Unit.

Dr. Sibley believes that the items donated will go a long way considering the fact that the hospital is experiencing some major challenges, especially in the war against the coronavirus.

He then assured that the materials received will be used for the purpose intended.

The donation is REO- International- Liberia third contribution to the fight against COVID-19 in the country. The organization through it Executive Director, Eric Wilfred Olson donated eight fingertip blood oxygen monitors and 10 Touch-less digital thermometers to the John F. Kennedy Hospital, among others.
