It was a dream realized for Kakata-based FC Quincy, as the club secured its first-ever league championship in the LFA Margibi Sub-Association 3rd Division Upper Sub-Committee League—despite having one match still to play in the 2025–2026 season.

Young stars Sylvester Bono and Bill Harris delivered a sensational performance, leading FC Quincy to a commanding 5-0 victory over Jonana FC on Tuesday, April 7, at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata. Bono netted a brilliant hat-trick, while Harris added a brace, thrilling hundreds of supporters who turned out to witness the historic moment.

The emphatic win marked FC Quincy’s eighth victory of the season and officially sealed the league title. The team has been outstanding throughout the campaign, collecting 26 points from 11 matches—recording 8 wins, 1 draw, and just 1 defeat.

Despite their dominance, FC Quincy found it difficult against second-placed One Goal Football Academy, failing to secure a win in their three encounters. Two of those matches ended in draws, while One Goal FA claimed one victory.

FC Quincy will conclude their season against Ka-City FC later this month, on a date yet to be confirmed.

The newly crowned champions have also set an impressive scoring record, netting 42 goals in 11 matches—the highest in the 2025–2026 3rd Division League so far.

Forward Bill Harris stands as the club’s top scorer, with 13 goals in 10 appearances. His tally includes a hat-trick recorded earlier in the season during a 4-0 win over Ka-City FC in the first phase of the league.

By clinching the title, FC Quincy has qualified for the National 3rd Division Playoffs scheduled for later this year. This will be the club’s second appearance at that stage. They previously represented Margibi County alongside New Horizon Football Academy in the playoffs held in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, where they narrowly missed promotion after finishing as runners-up.

Founded in 2018, FC Quincy continues to rise as a competitive force in Liberian football. The club is led by President Quincy Laty Smith, with Mother Marvenon Jentzen serving as Chief Executive Officer.

Other Results

In another fixture at the same venue, a stoppage-time goal from Solomon Kromah secured a dramatic 3-2 victory for One Goal Football Academy against Prosper FC on Wednesday, April 8.

The crucial win confirmed One Goal Football Academy’s second-place finish with 22 points from 11 matches, with one game remaining. They will face Jonana FC in their final fixture on a date yet to be announced.

In the Lower Sub-Committee League, Thunder FC are on the verge of becoming champions in their debut season. A draw in their next match will be enough to secure the title, having already clinched a spot in the National 3rd Division Playoffs.

Both Upper and Lower League champions are expected to face off later this month or early next month to determine the overall Margibi County champion.

Years back Africa Sports Academy claimed that honor by defeating Weintown United Football Club 1-0 at the Unification Sports Pitch in Smell No Taste.
