Boy, 14, Dies From Drowning In A River Gee Creek

FISH TOWN, RIVER GEE, Liberia- A boy identified as Dedford Molubah has lost his life and his body was discovered in a creek this southeastern city.

Dedford remains were discovered during the afternoon hours of Friday, April 30, 2021 in the Fish Creek here.

According to the community dwellers, the teenager lives with his mother, Dekar Choloply and others in the Titophenyno community just around Capital Hill in the city.

Dedford Molubah was a kindergarten student at the Gee Foundation school, which has been existing here for some time now.

“He lives just around me and he’s very respectful and obedient; I’m hurt and broken down by his untimely death,” one community resident said.

Both of his parents (mother and father) are said to be currently out of River Gee County. His mother is currently in neighbouring Ivory Coast, where she normally goes to buy goods for sale in Liberia, while his father works for the Liberia National Police outside of this county, Ms. Anitha Nyepan told www.newspublictrust.com.

“Blood was coming from his noise when we took him from the water but surprisingly no water was found in his stomach,has and his neck was reportedly broke while under the water,” she told this news outlet.

This News Public gathered that the late Dedford left his residence with some of his friends for fish Creek, but the occasion turned sour when young Dedford Molubah drifted and he couldn’t be rescue by friends.

Family sources told this Reporter that his friends left the scene after they observed he was drowning.

Hundreds of citizens and families were at the creek, where many were in tears.

Meanwhile, a 15-member coroner jury was setup at the creek to conduct an investigation on the body to identify as to whether there was foul play

But after examination, it was established there was no foul play.
