‎Residents of Wein Town in the Red Hill Community, Lower Johnsonville in the suburb of Monrovia, are calling on the Government of Liberia and well-meaning Liberians to rehabilitate the community’s deplorable road, which they say is creating serious difficulties for residents.‎

‎Speaking to Blaze Online TV in Lower Johnsonville over the weekend, Wein Town Chairman Jusu Collkohen identified the poor road condition as one of the major challenges confronting the community. He said the situation has made transportation difficult.

He particularly highlighted the plight of pregnant women, while also creating challenges for motorcyclists who use the road to transport residents.

‎According to Chairman Collkohen, community leaders have written the Ministry of Public Works and engaged Montserrado County District #2 Representative Sheku Kanneh to seek assistance for the rehabilitation of the road. However, he said their efforts have yet to yield any meaningful results.‎

‎Chairman Collkohen recalled that during their last meeting with Representative Kanneh, the lawmaker assured residents that the rehabilitation of the road was part of his development agenda. However, he said the community was later informed that the rehabilitation would begin from Lisgba Town and end at Rehab Market, leaving Wein Town out of the project.‎

‎Meanwhile, Red Hill Community resident Alex Kermun has expressed dissatisfaction with Representative Sheku Kanneh, accusing the lawmaker of neglecting the community.

Kermun said residents previously protested over the road’s condition after receiving assurances that it would be rehabilitated, but claimed that the promised work has not been carried out.

‎‎He further appealed to individuals and businesses within the community, as well as the government and other well-meaning Liberians, to support efforts to rehabilitate the road, noting that residents continue to face difficulties because of its poor condition.
