-Sets meeting for May 14, National Unification Day

As the planned June 7 “Save the State” protest date draws nearer, the CDC government headed by President George Manneh Weah is calling for dialogue with the Council of Patriots, the umbrella group that wrote the Justice Ministry requesting permit to hold the demonstration.

A May 9, 2019 letter signed by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Mr. Nathaniel McGill is calling the meeting for Tuesday, May 14, 2019, which coincides with the annual National Unification Day.

But there is so far no official reaction from the Council of Patriots as to whether they will attend the scheduled meeting with the government or not.
