The Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL) has issued “citizens’ arrest” for the Solicitor General, Counselor Syrenius Cephas, in the wake of recent allegations former RIA boss, Ellen Corkrum made linking him to involvement in sacrificing virgins for ritualistic purpose, a claim Cllr. Syrenius Cephas has since denied.

Recently, the former Liberia Civil Aviation Authority Director General, Ellen Corkrum linked Counselor Cephas to plan to used three virgins for ritualistic sacrifices for her to be exonerated from legal cases at home and  in the United States.

EFFL President, Emmanuel Gongueh on Thursday, September 24, 2021 declared that his group will do “citizens’ arrest” of the Counselor Cephas, when he appeared as a guest at the lecture forum organized by the Center for Exchange Intellectual Opinions in Monrovia.

He said the Solicitor General should be arrested because the Justice Ministry has failed to apprehend him for investigation in connection to some of the disappearances in the country.

Mr. Gonqueh expressed disappointment on some civil society organizations for not taking the streets in demand of the prosecution of the Solicitor General.

According to the EFFL leader, the cases of murder are not bail able offences and as such the Solicitor General  is supposed to be undergoing detention  awaiting prosecution rather than for him to be roaming around simply because he is closed to the ruling class.

“We cannot continue to live in a country where the laws are only applicable to poor people and the unconnected. We will never allow for the laws of the land to be discriminatory. We are living in a society where people are found dead  almost on a daily basis, disappearances are common , lawlessness is on the increase,” Mr. Gonqueh said

The EFFL CIC wondered what the future holds for his children and the succeeding generations unborn if Liberia continues like this for the next 20 years.

Recently, the Independent National Commission on Human Rights, the Liberia Council of Churches and the Civil Society Human Rights Platform  also proposed that the Solicitor General submit himself for investigation in the wake  of the leaked audio linking him to ritualistic killings and human sacrifices

But the Solicitor General recently rubbished the allegation linking him to human sacrifices on ground there is no legal justification in the  recording, and that he is a “devout Christian”.

This week, the Chairman of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INHCR), Cllr. Dempster Brown weighed in the issue of the accusation against SG Cephas and the need to investigate claims of his involvement in ritualistic killings.

Ellen Conkrum also linked former rebel General Ophoree Diah and a number of prominent people who she claimed were human sacrifices.
