Chief Justice Yuoh Praises Monrovia City Court Judge Barco, Why?

As 54 Bailiffs Are Trained In Ongoing Rebranding Of Liberian Judiciary

TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Sie-A-Nyene Yuoh has praised the Monrovia City Magisterial Court for digitalizing his court as part of the rebranding of the Judiciary.

Magistrate Barco and his court are now using emails to send court minutes or records something Chief Justice Yuoh said, magistrate Barco had opened the way and called on others court authorities to do same as we are in the digital world.

Liberia’s third female Chief Justice said that the digitalization of the Monrovia City Magisterial Court will spare the Judiciary from expenditure on stationaries and other logistics.

Even though she has praised the Magistrate Barco for digitalizing his court using email to send and receive court documents, the Supreme Court has failed to do same for Journalists covering the court by not always giving her opening address speech, despite the ongoing rebranding of the Judiciary.

The head of the Judiciary disclosed in her opening address at the formal opening of October A.D 2023Tterm of Court last week, that during the March A.D. 2023 term of Court, 50 cases were heard and disposed of while eleven election cases were also heard and disposed of.

Chief Justice warns court clerks

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Yuoh has warned Clerk of various Circuit Courts across Liberia to desist from opening Court during the formal opening of the Circuit, which usually takes place in February, May, August and November.

Court Clerks are usually ordered by their bosses (Judges) to do the formal opening of Courts while to they (Judges) sit in Monrovia without them residing in their assigned places.

The Chief Justice added that Judges who are involved in such constant habits, administrative actions will be taken against them, urging them to have their own residence in those counties where they are serving as resident Judges.

Meanwhile, 54 bailiffs have been trained as part of the rebranding process of the Judiciary and announced that Southeast to begin shortly when the dry season approaches.
