Citizens Laud Bong County Rep. Cole For Some Development Projects

GBARNGA, Liberia- Citizens of Bong County electoral district #3 are commending the districts representative Josiah Marvin Cole for undertaking several developmental projects in the district, over 169 kilometers from Monrovia.

In separate interviews with Journalists in the district recently, the citizens expressed their gratitude to representative Cole for undertaking projects in the district that are impacting the lives of citizens and residents.

The citizens named the construction of town houses, the provision of scholarships, the construction of health centers, the provision of solar panel lights; the construction of guest houses in the district and other development projects, as some tangibles that the lawmaker must be appreciated for by the people.

In continuations of its humanitarians gestures across the County, Bong County electoral district #3 Representative recently donated five hundred thousand Liberian Dollars ($500,000.00) to students that sat this year national exam from ten high schools in the county.

Representative Cole made the donation on August 29, 2020, in Gbarnga when he launched the “J. Marvin Cole 100 Young Entrepreneurs Economic Empowerment Program”.

During the launch, the lawmaker said the money donated is intended to strengthen and empower senior students of the various high schools, who are writing this year’s national examination in the county.

Musu Kollie, a daughter of the district showered praises on Rep. Cole saying that he has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that he is a developer, a unifier, a reconciler as well overall a team player.

Mrs. Kollie said Rep. Cole’s support to the re-election bid of Senator Henry Willie Yallah showed that he is a unifier and furthered demonstrates the lawmaker willingness of putting aside self-interest.

“You all are aware that during the senatorial by-election in 2020 in the county, the entire caucus members of Bong County were against Hon. Cole, including Sen. Yallah. But today this great lawmaker of our time have endorsed him (Senator Yallah) for the December 2020 special senatorial election,” she said

Mrs. Kollie pointed out that the people of Jorquelleh District will forever remain thankful and work with Rep. Cole and the CDC-led Government, in order to ensure that peace and rapid development are achieved in the district.

Besides empowering the students, Rep. Cole vowed to provide one million Liberian dollars to the first high school that will score the highest mark in this year’s national exam.

For his part, the District Commissioner, Washington Bonnah said: “No detractor will divert the attention of the people and leadership of our District from working with our productive legislator.  We will not stop supporting him because the tangible developments under his leadership are a clear manifestation that he is committed to developing the entire district and Bong County at large.

Another person who spoke at the occasion was Comfort L. Cole, Resource Officer in the offices of the lawmaker.

“As part of our vision to promote infrastructure development and thereby leave a lasting legacy for our future generations, in December 2019, Rep. Cole broke ground for the first ever construction of a modern Town Hall in Gbelekpalah, District #3. Today, that town hall have been completed and delegated,” Ms. Cole said.

She continued: “The people’s center lawmaker also broke ground for the construction of the only Health Center (Clinic) for the people of Jennepleta in February 2020, and that the project is nearing completion.”

“Be aware that this useful Lawmaker of this our great County just launched a one million Liberian Dollars loan scheme for petty market women in the County.”

At the same time, District Commissioner Bonnah has cautioned the people of Jorquelleh District and Bong County in general to set aside their political, religious, ethnic and traditional differences and work with the district lawmaker to ensure that the growth and development of their district is achieved.

Alfred Spencer, a resident of the district believes that the lawmaker has done much in the one and a half years since entering the house of Representative.
