“I Have Nothing To Justify”- Defendant Earlier Told Court In Tears, After Pleading Guilty

TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia– Criminal Court “B” presided by its assigned Judge Wesseh A. Wesseh has adjudged guilty defendant Bill Jallah for killing his girlfriend, Princess Zuo.
The guilty verdict was handed down in a nearly empty courtroom with the mother and others family of the late Princess in attendance.
The trial commenced on August 27th 2025 at Criminal Court “B”, following a plea bargaining motion filed by the defendant lawyer Cllr. Jimmy Saah Bombo.

It was a bench trial where the Judge served as jury and also for the law.
During the trial, prosecution paraded three witnesses while the defendant testified on his own behalf.
At the final arguments this morning, prosecution lawyer Cllr. Isaac Williams told court to sentence the defendant not less than forty years to serve as deterrence for would-be perpetrators despite his guilty plea.
While the defense lawyer Cllr. Bombo told court to temple justice with mercy. Their argument lasted for two minutes and the judge announced that the judge could be done @12noon today September 11,2025.
WHEREFORE AND IN VIEW of the foregoing circumstance and facts Defendant Bill Jallah is hereby adjudged guilty on all counts of the indictment: Murder, a capital Offense of the First Degree Felony, Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault, Second degree felonies.
Meanwhile, the Clerk of this Court is hereby ordered to communicate with the Probation Services of the Ministry of Justice to conduct a background check on the defendant which will aid this court in the administration of sentence.
However, the judge has ordered the Clerk of court to write a communication to the Ministry of Justice probation division to do a pre-sentencing report on the defendant character and report it within five working day and thereafter, sentence will be imposed on the defendant.
The defendant Bill Jallah was indicted during the February A.D. 2025 term of court for the crimes of Murder, Aggravated Assault and Criminal Attempt to commit murder by the grand jury of Montserrado County.
Earlier, in a silent courtroom with a very low attendance, defendant Bill Jallah who murdered his girlfriend Princess Zuo Wesseh on December 21,2024, in the Paynesville area, took the witness stand but as he opened his mouth, only tears could see rolling down his cheeks.
His continued cry led one of his sisters sitting away from him, also join him to cry.
“I have nothing to justify for killing Princess Zuo Wesseh”
Defendant Bill Jallah was indicted by the grand jury of Montserrado County for crimes of Murder, Criminal Attempt to commit murder and aggravated assault.
When asked by his lawyer Cllr. Jimmy Bombo on the witness stand, Mr. Witness, you have been charged by the Republic of Liberia for the Crimes of Murder, Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder and Aggravated Assault, what do you have to say?
“Honestly, I cannot recall everything that happened but I really don’t have much to say to this Court.”
“so, I want to use this time to apologize to the Government of Liberia and to the Court for the incident that happened”.
“I am deeply sorry, especially to Princess’s Mother, Ma-Mai. I am sorry for taking your daughter’s life from you,” defendant Jallah told court.
I don’t know the pain that she is going through but I am sorry and I know that sorry is not enough.” I also want to say that I am deeply sorry to the Princess’s son, Eddie, that he lost his mother at a very young age.
“I am also sorry to princess only Brother Isaac and I am sorry to all the Wesseh and Zuo Families. I apologize to the Government of Liberia; I am sorry to all those this incident has affected. I am appealing to this Honorable Court for mercy” he said while crying bitterly.
“I am begging the Judge and this Court to kindly exercise justice with mercy. I have nothing to justify and the few times I have been in prison I have been playing this incident over and over in my head but nothing makes sense to me.”
Defendant Jallah told court that Princess was my very good friend and to get to know that she is gone is something that I cannot still understand but I know that sorry will not bring her back. So, once again I am asking and saying sorry to all those that this incident has affected especially Princess’s families and I am begging the Judge and the Republic of Liberia to kindly exercise mercy that is all that I have to say.
CROSS EXAMINATION
Mr. Witness, when you took the witness stand on the direct you appealed to the Republic of Liberia and this Honorable Court and the families of Princess Zoe Wesseh for what happened. Mr. Witness, why are you appealing for mercy? Ans. I am appealing for mercy because I have been charged for Murder for taking Princess’s life away.
However, prosecution rested with the production of both oral and documentary evidence and presented it side of the case for final arguments. Similarly, the Defense rested with witness on the stand and said, it’s ready to argue its side of the case.
