TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- Criminal Court ‘C’ today, August 1,2025 ruled that the former acting Chairperson of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), Abdullah Kamara was unlawfully indicted by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).

According to the Court, Mr. Kamara was wrongfully named as the corporate officers to represent the Tama Corporation in the over US$3.58 million dollars economic sabotage case.

Judge Joe S. Barkon in his Friday’s ruling stated that the cooperation as a distinct entity has its new Chief executive officer and other corporation officers to assent the right of the corporation. Therefore Kamara, who is a former chief executive officer of Tama Corporation, indictment is imprope , unlawful, and untenable, contrary to the provisions of the Association law cited above and the opinion of the supreme court of Liberia.

“The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission had reason to believe that there was probable cause to hold the former LTA acting boss for the commission of an offense, it should have held him separately from the corporation than hold him for the act of the corporation.”

Meanwhile, judge Barkon said, “it is candid decision of this court that the motion to drop is and is hereby ordered granted, upheld, sustained, and Abdullah Kamara is ordered dropped from this case and the resistance thereto filed by the state is denied and dismissed.

However, in a motion filed by Abdullah Kamara through his lawyer on July 17,2025 Kamara through his lawyer Cllr. Amara Sheriff filed a motion to drop him from being wrongfully named in the indictment as CEO for Tamma Corporation for the reasons that the Movant in its count one of the motion avered that he is  he is wrongfully labeled as the CEO of Tama Corporation when he had since relinquished the CEO position over a year ago , so he  prayed the court to drop him from the case as a mis-joiner party in these proceedings.

n the indictment, the LACC claimed that in the absence of a written contract between the LTA and Tamma Corporation or any scope of work on May 18,2023 , Co-Defendant Edwina Zackpa chairperson of the LTA unilaterally authorized the total payment of US$4,500 and LR22,500.000.00 from the operational account of the LTA to Tamma Corporation under the pretext of contributing to corporate social responsibility activities; and that the said amounts were paid to Abdullah Kamara, CEO of Tamma Corporation with no evidence of work and that the said amount cannot be accounted for.

However, prosecution took an exception to the ruling and promised to take advantage of the statute controlling.
