ECOBANK Leads Banking & Financial Activities In Southeastern Liberia

MARYLAND, Liberia- Banking and financial activities are said to be steadily improving in Liberia’s far to reach biggest region geographically in the southeast, which host six counties– Maryland, River Gee, Rivercess, Sinoe, Grand Kru and Grand Gedeh.

And one of the banking institutions taking the lead is the Pan African Bank known as (ECOBANK LIMITED).

Maryland County is blessed to be the only county in the entire region to have ECOBANK still operating from its commercial capital, Pleebo City from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

It Provides, banking and financial services to citizens from River Gee, Grand Kru, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe and host Maryland Counties, with approximately eight thousand account holders, according to the Bank’s officials. ECOBANK is said to be on top of other commercial banking institutions here in many respects.

It can be recalled that the management of the Pan African Bank installed two giant size ATM machines in 2021 and they serve up to two to three hundred customers daily.

This news outlet, www.newspublictrust.com has gathered that ECOBANK LIMITED is the only bank in the southeast that runs a 24-four-hour ATM service for both Liberian and the United States dollars at its Pleebo branch.

Located in the most populated city in southeast, this Bank runs two ATM machines both USD and LRD, with two Tellers and other ATM Service Providers in the hall just opposite one of its other commercial bank competitors. ECOBANK’s customers continue to grow sharply, with estimated 12 Persons opening both USD and LRD accounts weekly.

Putting costumers Services and interest first have become the order of the day, says ECOBANK local Management team headed by the Pleebo branch Manager Moibah Barwoh.

He boasts of working tirelessly with his team members to ensure the people of the region are well served.

Recently, the Pan African Bank launched the “Push & Pull” App for costumers in the country and this helps customers get money from their accounts without going to the Bank, the money will be transfers from their account to their respective Mobile Money account and this makes Banking in Liberia way easier than ever before.

“ECOBANK is making Banking easy for us especially those of us in the southeastern Liberia, the Push and Pull is actually helping us, I don’t have to go to the Bank anymore. I just pushed the Money from my Bank account to my mobile Money account and get it out for use by its customers and employees of Tubman University,” Miss. Elizabeth B. Hne explains.

Another customer and a resident of Grand Kru County, George Wah said, “I’m really impressed with the Services ECOBANK LIMITED is providing residents of the region and I would like to encourage others to open an account with them,” he remarked.

The Superintendents of both River Gee and Grand Kru Counties, Philip Nyenuah and Doris Nyanltah were recently spotted using ATM machine at the Bank and even withdrawing from their various accounts.

According to branch ECOBANK branch Manager Moibah Barwoh, “the Bank’s management has launched one of its newest developed Apps, the ECOBANK App which is used to buy airtime, pay bill, transfers money, split transfers, Xpress cash and ECOBANK pay and this app is one of the most recent easy and reliable means of getting things around us easily.”

According to Mr. Barwoh, “The Bank Management is trying seriously to eradicate cash and making business effectively function using digital Money.”

He noted that ECOBANK is collaborating with local Business and operates four Xpress points in Maryland County both Harper and Pleebo cities, New Creation Business & Grace Gracious, James Mahn Filling Station and as well as the Lawrence Business Center which are helping customers get easy access to their money.
