Education Min. Sonii Promises Digital Libraries For All Public High Schools By 2022 Ending

GBAPOLU, Liberia- Education Minister Professor Ansue Sonii has ended his nationwide tour in the northwestern Gbarpolu County, assuring all public high schools that they will get digital libraries before the end of 2022.

He also expressed satisfaction over the level of progress made in the ongoing massive exercise to renovate public schools across Liberia.

In an interview with local journalists in Bopolu City over the weekend, Minister Sonii said that the money given secondary public schools’ administrators to recondition their schools was used to the expectation of the ministry and government.

He added that additional money will be provided by the World Bank through the education ministry for providing the funding.

Minister Sonii has meanwhile, broken grounds for the construction of three public high schools in Gbarpolu County if completed, will make public high schools to seven.

He is at the same time calling on education officers of the various counties to help the former classroom teachers in getting their retirement benefits from government.

Prof. Sonii said retired teachers don’t have the financial capacity to run after their own retirement benefits at the Ministry, but he said with the intervention of county education officers, things will be ok for the retired teachers.

Meanwhile, the Education Minister has also used the medium to praise the way education has improved over the years since the inception of the CDC lead government.
