WESSEH-BOLLOH, Liberia — Residents of Wessah Town in Sasstown District, Grand Kru County have staged a roadblock in protest over what they described as the lack of action by county authorities to resolve an ongoing land dispute between the Bolloh and Sasstown communities.

The situation reportedly came to the attention of security personnel around 4:00 p.m., when Sasstown District Superintendent Washington M. Sackor placed a call informing them about tensions in the Wessah Bush are. This area stretching to River Noh in Upper Sasstown, where individuals from Bolloh were allegedly discharging firearms during the dispute.

Acting on the information, security officers moved to the area along with their team to assess the situation. Upon arriving in Wessah, they discovered that citizens had blocked the main road, preventing the free movement of people and vehicles.

Residents told the officers that their action was meant to draw attention to the ongoing land conflict between Bolloh and Sasstown, which they believe has not been adequately addressed by the Grand Kru County authorities.

Security personnel later intervened and cleared the roadblock, restoring normal traffic in the area before proceeding to Wessah Bush, where the dispute reportedly occurred.

While inspecting the scene, officers discovered three empty gun shells, confirming that gunshots had been fired during the confrontation.

No injuries were immediately reported, and authorities say investigations are continuing to establish the facts surrounding the incident and address the underlying land dispute.
