According to Mr. Saygbe, the new platform will serve as a central hub for fisheries sector information and services, providing stakeholders with easier access to essential resources and opportunities.
“This new website contains the necessary features to attract investment to the sector. NaFAA remains one of the most effective state-owned enterprises within the Government of Liberia, and this platform provides updated data and information on the fisheries sector,” Mr. Saygbe said.
He explained that the website is designed to improve coordination with the private sector, establish clear pathways for investment, facilitate easier access to services, and strengthen transparent collaboration between the Authority and its partners.
Mr. Saygbe also expressed appreciation to the World Bank for its support toward the development of the platform through the Liberia Sustainable Management of Fisheries Project, which is being implemented by NaFAA.
The Director General noted that the website introduces several user-friendly features that will allow stakeholders to apply for permits and licenses online, access fisheries policies and regulations, review announcements and tenders, and stay informed about events, programs, and projects within the sector.
He added that the platform will also provide real-time information for investors and partners on fisheries investment opportunities, aquaculture expansion initiatives, and engagement opportunities involving donor, private, and public-sector partnerships.
The launch event was attended by development partners, importers, and members of the private sector, including cold storage operators, who commended NaFAA for the timely digital upgrade. They noted that the platform will help save time, improve service delivery, and further promote transparency within Liberia’s fisheries sector
