Ex-Lawmaker Josephine Francis: “Don’t Ignore Women In Politics For Political Prostitutes

Ahead of the 2023 presidential and Legislative election in Liberia, former Montserrado County District # 1 Representative, Josephine George Freeman has called on the voters not to Ignore women in politics for temporary politicians/political prostitutes.

The former Montserrado County District # 1 lawmaker was speaking over the weekend in Heindii Town, Fuamah District # 7 Bong County at the program marking the petition ceremony of former District # 7 lawmaker of Bong County, Corpu G. Barclay for Representative of this district.

Madam Barclay, once served as Representative of Bong County during the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s government is again trying to make a comeback.

“I have come to tell you that we have the experience / experiences and we care about you and the country. We are indeed suffering and we need not to tell you that we are your mothers, daughters and aunties,” former Rep. Francis said.

The former Montserrdo County District # 1 Lawmaker noted that she and Corpu Barclay have come long way.

“I do not need to tell because you know her much more than I do she is your daughter or mother who loves and cares about you all in this district.

I have also come to tell you all that your destiny lies in your own hand because those so called temporary Politicians or political prostitutes will come with lies 2023 and say women oo women,  youth oh youth,” Madam Francis rallied the crowd.

The former Montserrdo County District # 1 lawmaker, who once served as chairperson on Agriculture and Executive, promised farmers of Heindii Town,Fuamah District that she will come to know some of their needs and will provides some farming tools to farmers in Heindii Town, Fuamah District and Bong County at large.

Madam Francis, who unsuccessfully ran for Senator in the special senatorial election for Montserrdo County in 2020, also buttressed Ambassador C, Michael Lahai, National Leader Campaingner, Students Against Drugs (SAD-LIB) for the passage of a stronger drugs law by the House of legislature for a non-bailable crime.

Madam Francis predicted that if the necessary measures are not taken now, by 2022-2023, over 2 million children in Liberia will be affected by narcotic drugs abuse.

She had represented Liberia in several countries across Africa, Europe among others.

Former Rep. Francis is the President of the Farmers Union Network Of Liberia and also served as Vice President of the Network Farmer Organization In West Africa (ROPPA).

She is also the  Chief Executive Officer of Arjay Farms in Kingsville Township, Montserrado County.
