GBARNGA, Liberia- Despite the many challenges facing the Liberian economy, Liberia’s former Ambassador to the United States, Jeremiah C. Sulunteh has assured the administration of C. B. Dunbar Maternity Hospital in Gbarnga gives LRD 30,000, as he pledges support to Liberia’s challenged health system.
What was described as Ambassador Sulunteh’s goodwill gesture comes at the time the Liberian healthcare delivery system is challenged and needs urgent support from citizens of Liberia.
In March this year, Ambassador Sulunteh distributed assorted medical supplies to Phebe and C. B.Dunbar hospitals as a way of giving back to his people.
In his acquaintance meeting with health workers, the onetime Liberia’s Ambassador to the USA, Canada and Mexico said he was born by a Midwife and reared by a professional Nurse and as such, he will always have Health workers and health institutions at heart as well as in his plans for Bong county and Liberia at large.
Presenting the thirty thousand Liberian dollars ($30.000) to the Administration of the hospital, Sulunteh stating the money given to health workers at the facility is for their lunch and not merely for drugs and medical supplies for the hospital.
During his visitation at the only Maternity hospital in this central region of the country, Amb. Sulunteh pledged his unbending supports to the hospital, stating that his support to the health system in the coming months will enable health workers to effectively and efficiently perform their duties.
For his part, the Administrator of the hospital, Thomas Fallah Kpelewah thanked Ambassador Sulunteh for his Humanitarin gesture and asked that he continues so as to keep the hospital in his plans “when you are always here and knowing the challenges we face, it will enable you and your team’s know exactly what we want in order that we continue providing quality health services at the facility”.
Mr. Kpelewak thanked Ambassador Sulunteh for his kind gesture and asked him for his continuous support to C. B. Dunbar and others health facilities across Bong County and Liberia at large.
