Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. To Be Celebrated In Liberia With Petition Seeking US Visa Waiver For 1st African Nation Created BY American Colonization

In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King said:
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. Never again can we afford to live with the narrow, provincial ‘outside agitator’ idea. Anyone who lives inside the United States can never be considered an outsider anywhere within its bounds.”

What: Petition For US Visa Waiver For All Liberians To Be Presented to US Ambassador McCarthy In Monrovia

Who: A group of American Clergy led by Rev. Torli H. Krua

When: US Embassy Benson Street, Monrovia, Liberia

Date & Time: 12:00 Noon January 18, 2023

Why: Citizens from 40 countries (not a single African nation) are allowed to enter the United States of America without a visa under the American Visa Waiver Program. However, long before this provision was put in place, the United States republic began with the signing on July 4, 1776, of the American Declaration of Independence; “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. ”

Article 1 of the Liberian Constitution of 1824, which is still in force, the American Declaration of Independence, the 1847 Constitution of the Republic of Liberia, and the 1986 Constitution of Liberia, form the legal basics of our petition for equal opportunities for all Liberians to access quality education, employment and business opportunities in the United States of America without vis restrictions. In addition to the legal arguments of laws that are still in force, there are also legal precedents that show that the privileges we are seeking for all Liberians are already being enjoyed by millions of citizens from sovereign nations, who don’t even have any constitutional provisions that Liberians have. In Liberia, all top politicians of the ruling parties and opposition have access to the privileges we are seeking for Liberians.

Finally, the Bible gives us more reasons why we don’t have these privileges today, why we have not enjoyed these privileges in 200 years, and what we need to do to gain access to these privileges by January 1, 2023. James 4:2 “…You do not have, because you do not ask.” Matthew 7: 7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Examples of top entrepreneurs from countries destroyed by wars like Liberia, such as Japanese, South Korean, and German citizens who have brought sustainable development to their countries accessed education in their native countries or the United States of America. Examples include the Chairman, of Hyundai Motor Group, Chung Eui-sun, who, after graduating from Korea University, he earned an MBA from the University of San Francisco School of Business in 1997. The national development of Japan is led by Japanese billionaire, Masayoshi Son with a Net worth: of 22.5 billion USD (2022) was educated at the US University of California, Berkeley. He founded the business, SoftBank Group. Dr. Kyung received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in control and instrumentation engineering from Seoul National University (SNU) in 1986, 1988, and 1994 respectively. Ho-Am Byung-Chul Lee was a South Korean businessman. He was the founder of the Samsung Group, which is South Korea’s largest business group,[and one of South Korea’s most successful businessmen. He was a pioneer of modern entrepreneurship and was a beacon of national economic development for South Korea. Akio Toyoda completed his undergraduate work in law at Keio University[4] in Japan and was awarded his Masters of Finance at Babson College[5][6] in Massachusetts, USA.

In the USA, the top three companies with the largest revenues and most employees are. Walmart-$573 billion dollars,  Apple, $366 billion dollars and Amazon, $470 billion dollars were started by ordinary citizens, not lawmakers or presidents. In Massachusetts, USA, where I live, we have a $52.7 billion dollars budget for FY-2023 and lawmakers earn less than $6,000 USD with no new cars or drivers. In Rhode Island, our southern neighbor with a $13.6 billion dollars budget, lawmakers earn $15,000 yearly. Our northern neighbor, New Hampshire has an annual budget of $13.5 billion, and the lawmakers earn a total of $200 per two-year term, with no per diem or assigned cars. In the state of Texas, with an FY2023 budget of $119.7 billion dollars, lawmakers earn a mere $7200 per year.  Given the fact that the US Government knows this information and still provides American taxpayers money to fund the Government of Liberia is really an insult to American taxpayers!

To conclude, we the people of Liberia have every right to accept the broken and corrupt system and sit down waiting for Jesus to come and change the system. On the other hand, we are human beings and what others have created to steal, kill and destroy, we can change for a better system of a participatory democratic nation that empowers the people, not the politicians, and guarantees, security, justice, and equal opportunities. Make your choice and let’s go to work. Rev. Torli H. Krua
