Gbarpolu County Clinics get PPE Boost

A prominent citizen of Gbarpolu County, has donated several medical and personnel protective equipment (PPE) valued over USD 8,000 to six major health centers.

The institutions are Bopolu, Gbarma, and Bokoma clinics. Others are the Belleh, Kongbai, and Gouwoulala clinics.   

Presenting the items to county authorities, the President & Founder of the Kennedy Hope Foundation, Paul Koulboi Kennedy, said, they decided to work with various authorities in the county, specifically the county health team to provide logistics and material support in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The gesture is meant to ensure the county preparedness and immediate response to pandemic, and to boost the health ministry’s support to clinics and hospitals in the country, Kennedy said.

He also told county authorities that plans were underway by the Kennedy Hope Foundation to liaise with the Health Ministry to provide training for Gbarpolu County health workers or in order to prepare them for COVID-19 response.

Making remarks on behalf of the Superintendent of Gbarpolu County, the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Forkpa D. Karmon, thanked the foundation for the donation which he described as a way of helping Gbarpolu County in this critical time of the outbreak of COVID-19.

Materials and drugs donated include surgical gowns, N95 nose masks, intubation tubes, HAZMAT suits and paraceutamol, ibuprofen, among other PPEs.

For his part, Gbarpolu County Health Officer DR. Musa Zuanah, acknowledged Paul Kennedy’s donation, recalling that it was the second of such gesture to health centers in the county.
